Terms and Conditions
Last Updated: June 7, 2026
Welcome to Tavu Expeditions. We are excited to help you plan your next adventure! Please take a moment to read through our terms. By planning a trip with us or using our website (tavuexpeditions.com), you agree to these guidelines.
1. Changes and Alterations
By You: We love crafting custom itineraries. If you want to change your plans after confirming your trip, just let us know. We will do everything we can to adjust things smoothly, based on what the lodges and transport providers have available.
By Us: Nature and safari environments can be unpredictable. While we always aim to stick strictly to your planned itinerary, we reserve the right to modify routes, accommodations, or activities if weather, road conditions, or safety concerns require it. If a specific lodge becomes unavailable, we will always swap it for one of equal quality and comfort.
2. Passports, Visas, and Health Requirements
Your Travel Documents: It is your responsibility to ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates and that you have obtained any necessary entry visas for your destination.
Health and Safety: Safaris can involve long drives and outdoor elements. Please let us know ahead of time if you have any severe allergies, dietary restrictions, or medical conditions so we can prepare your guides and accommodations. Don't forget to check if your destination requires specific health measures, like Yellow Fever vaccinations or malaria preventatives.
3. Travel Insurance
To ensure you are fully protected, we highly recommend that all guests purchase comprehensive travel insurance. A good policy should cover unexpected trip cancellations, medical emergencies, emergency medical evacuation, and protection for your personal baggage and camera gear.
4. Liability and Unexpected Events
Our Partners: Tavu Expeditions coordinates your trip using a trusted network of independent hotels, lodges, camps, and local flight operators. While we choose our partners with the utmost care, we cannot be held directly responsible for any delays, losses, or service issues caused by these independent providers.
Nature's Risks: Traveling into wild spaces brings you close to nature and wildlife. By booking an expedition, you understand and accept the inherent risks of outdoor travel.
Force Majeure: Sometimes things happen completely out of anyone's control—such as extreme weather, natural disasters, political strikes, or public health updates. In these rare events, Tavu Expeditions cannot be held liable for changes, delays, or a failure to perform services.
5. Share Your Feedback
If anything isn't quite right during your safari, please tell your guide or reach out to our team immediately. We want to fix it on the spot so you can enjoy your holiday! If an issue isn't resolved during the trip, you can send us a written note within 21 days of returning home, and we will work through it together.
6. Bookings and Payments
Reserving Your Safari: A booking is considered confirmed once we agree on your custom itinerary and receive an initial payment to start locking in your lodges and transport.
Flexible Payments: We don't believe in rigid percentages. Your initial payment and payment schedule will be tailored to your specific trip, depending entirely on the booking requirements of the safari lodges and parks we include in your itinerary.
Finalizing Details: We ask that the remaining balance be settled comfortably before your safari start date so we can finalize all local logistics, permits, and park entries for your arrival.
Last-Minute Bookings: If you are booking a spontaneous getaway close to your departure date, we will just work together to get everything finalized and paid for upfront so your trip can go off without a hitch.
