Day 1: Nairobi – Chorlim Gate
Our driver will pick you up from your hotel in Nairobi in the morning and drive to Chorlim Gate, Mt Elgon National Park. This will be a long day drive taking over 7 hours. Have a stopover at Nakuru for early lunch. Upon arrival at the gate, the check-in formalities and park entrance fees are done. We pitch our tents at Kapkuro Campsite, where we will have dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Chorlim Gate – Mutamaiyo Camp (2,900 mts)
After breakfast, we start the hike following the road that coils all the way to the base of Roadhead Camp. We will be trekking through the dense forest with diverse indigenous trees. Have a picnic lunch at Endebess Bluff. The trekking from the gate normally takes about 6 hours and we will arrive at the camp in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Mutamaiyo Camp.

Day 3: Mutamaiyo – Roadhead
After breakfast, we start the trek to Roadhead Camp (3,300 mts). We will begin to exit the rainforest and welcome the moorland vegetation. Have a picnic lunch en-route. The trekking to Roadhead normally takes 4–5 hours. Dinner and overnight at Roadhead Camp.
Day 4: Roadhead – Summit (Koitobos Peak 4,120 mts) – Roadhead
Wake up early at 04:00 hrs and have some hot coffee or chocolate and biscuits. Start the pre-dawn attempt to the summit. At about 4,000 mts, we will have a steep walk to the summit, Koitobos Peak (4,120 mts). Have an opportunity to see the sunrise. After taking photos, we descend down to Roadhead Camp for lunch. Dinner and overnight stay at Roadhead Camp.
Day 5: Roadhead – Chorlim Gate
After breakfast and check-out from the camp, we start descending the mountain through the thick [description provided ends here].
